Dark Waters
Dark Waters water printed vintage cotton gloves belonging to my Great Aunt, displayed on a gallery block with a draped backdrop in black velvet sparkle creature fabric, direct spotlighting.
This was a dream that changed me, reaching into the depths of the ocean nothing but black, I found the light in the dark.
Shell Head video projection plays over a body form, draped with water printed cotton fabric. Inspired by red banana trees this garment melts into its surroundings.
The Causeway video projection, water printed cotton, water color. From birth - high school we drove across the lake almost 4-5 days a week, it was 25minutes of water, horizon and the bump sound rolling over the lines where the bridge segments meet, every few seconds. This would unknowingly train me to have outer body experiences, I would watch the car from above in my mind somehow. A much needed meditation that trained me to tune in and tune out as needed.
